Abstract The ²-diketones have carbonyl groups at position ², which are bidentates ligands which allow the formation of complexes with a variety of metallic cations, and therefore, presents a wide range of applications. Incorporation of ²-diketones on inorganic matrices can improve the properties and applications of these molecules and may further produce hybrid materials with new properties different from those in the precursor materials separately. An inorganic matrix that can be quite explored is kaolinite, mineral clay abundant in nature, which can be functionalized. In this study, the focus will be on the synthesis and characterization of hybrids prepared by functionalization of ²-diketones on modified kaolinite with alkoxides, and the use of these hybrids in reactions of catalysis with complexing ions such as Fe3+ to the ²-diketones, and investigating the luminescence properties with complexing ions Eu3+ and Tb3+ also to the ²-diketones.The materials obtained will be characterized by X-ray diffraction, absorption spectroscopy in the infrared (FT-IR) and ultraviolet visible (UV-Vis), thermal analysis (TG / DTG, DTA and DSC), elemental analysis C, N and H, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). | |
