Abstract

The project consists of a visit by Prof. Dennis L. Toufen to Texas Helimak, magnetically confined plasma machine, located at the Institute for Fusion Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, to strengthen the existing collaboration between this institute and the group of control oscillations of the IFUSP. On this visit, in January 2013, the researcher should participate and propose new experiments using the Doppler effect spectroscope finished in 2012, as well as discuss some new results already obtained and the possibility of controlling the turbulence using the vertical variation of the magnetic field.
