Abstract

The aim of this project is to understand the construction of the homosexual fatherhood process and its changes over time in men who have stable homosexual relationships. This is an exploratory and cross-sectional study, supported in the qualitative approach. The participants will be six homosexual men who remain in a stable homoaffective relationship and have at least one child who coexists (cohabitation) with the couple for one year, at least. This child can be a biological or adoptive child. The instruments used will be the Life Story Technical of the participant and a semi-structured interview script which was exclusively developed for the project. The analysis of the material will be conducted following the procedures of content analysis and interpretation of results will be based on the available scientific literature on homoaffective fatherhood. The goal is to discuss how these families can be understood through the experience of fatherhood, submitting proposals for both the intervention in this clinical context and adopting consistent policies with the current social transformations.
