Abstract

The probation supervision in Clinical Psychology is shown as a fundamental instrument for the process of shaping the future therapist. Developing therapeutic skills in the student/trainee is one of the roles that the supervisor should exercise. Understanding the role of the internship supervisor in this context is one of the goals of this research, in addition to analyzing the importance and effectiveness of supervision. For this, sessions will be analyzed for clinical trainees in Behavior Therapy, once started the stage in the first half and early in the second half of the school year. The goal is to compare the therapeutic interactions in the first two sessions of the interventions with the first half of the second. These sessions aim to identify complaints and other difficulties and describe the contingencies involved, before agreeing with the client, the treatment plan. After spending a semester of supervision shall be further analyzed the first and second sessions of the same trainee, but with another customer at the beginning of the second semester. Will participate in the research twelve trainees Behavioral Therapy. The sessions will be audio-recorded. Therapists and clients will sign a term of informed consent. The contents of the recordings will be categorized by two independent observers who will undergo training to use a system of categorization of behaviors of the therapist and the client, using an observation protocol and software for data analysis. The study aims to identify what behaviors the therapist learns in a semester of supervision in clinical psychology analytic behavior in order to subsidize the training of new therapists.(AU)
