Abstract

The candidate Stella Pires de Moraes Santos is an undergraduate student of the Physics Department of the Universidade de Taubaté - UNITA. She had an interview with this author and expressed her firm wish to pursue research work at the Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais - INPE where she will possibly engage in the course on Space Geophysics for a Master degree after her IC stage. This IC opportunity will be therefore of great importance for her Master's course if she will decide to do it. This is her first experience in a Bolsa IC. She will start her IC program by getting trained with the main ionospheric instrumentation of INPE´s Aeronomy Division (Data processing of the Digisonde, optical imagers, magnetometer, and coherent radar. For such purpose, the candidate will get the help of local personal f the Aeronomy Division (Physicist Goreti) and also from other master and doctorate students. As a complement, the candidate will consult reports of former IC students oriented by this author and also INPE´s Master's degree dissertations and Doctorate theses in the field of Aeronomy. The research project proposed here has two main objectives: 1. Detailed study of the morphology of the Earth´s geomagnetic field based on the IGRF empirical model, 2. Study of the morphology and dynamics (zonal velocities) of the ionospheric plasma bubbles. (AU)
