Abstract

The research will last two months and a half, and its aim is to select key texts of Indian cultural and literary criticism of the last 100 years which are relevant to both countries. In this way a theoretical background of Indian culture will be built from our contextual perspective with seminal texts of Indian critics, thinkers, politicians, writers and artists that have not been published in Brazil yet. The following publication of the translation of those selected texts will allow to establish an enriching dialogue with Brazilian literary critique as well as the criticism produced by other countries that share a colonial past and which, according to Boehmer (2002), created a transnational network of resistance with the aim of achieving their independence.
