Abstract

The proposal of this study is to evaluate the fidelity of completely edentulous arches casts obtained by preliminary impression in alginate, where the conventional technique of only molding will be compared, with that in that it is made the couple molding or relining of the first layer. For so much standard of arches moldings of models will totally be accomplished in upper and lower edentulous arch where the position will be standardized mold and cast position during the impression technique using a metallic device. They will be established groups considering the following factors: molding simple or double (relining) with irreversible hydrocolóid (Hidrogum), previous relief or not before the procedure of the second molding, alteration or not of the proportion water and powder for the second molding. Five groups will be composed and each one will contain ten samples. The obtained molds will be filled out with plaster type IV (Fujirock) maintaining the manufacturer's specifications for proportion and manipulation, as well as procedures of disinfection of the mold and packaging of the model will be considered to the moment of the reading of the proof bodies. The comparative analysis of the dimensional stability of models will be accomplished by the measurement of points in the center of casts, acted by three metallic spheres fastened in the area of the crest of the alveolar edge (one in the previous portion and two bilaterally in the subsequent area) and, that you/they will be reproduced in the molds. These spheres will serve as parameters for the determination of occlusal plan obtained starting from a measurement machine by three-dimensional coordinates BRT-M507. The comparison of results so much regarding the obtained area as the distances point to point will be done to the data be compiled, that will be submitted to more appropriate statistical analysis.(AU)
