Abstract

Considering the need to obtain optimal levels recuperative, is used in various field strategies. Among them, it is used most often in cold water immersion. However, there are also gaps in knowledge to define the real effects of these methods of recovery under specific conditions. Objective: To analyze and compare the effects of cryotherapy during recovery after strenuous exercise, using different times and temperatures on the heart rate variability. Materials and Methods: The study sample will consist of 50 male subjects who were randomly divided into five groups, one control and four recoveries (GC, G1, G2, G3, and G4). Volunteers will be submitted to an exhaustion protocol consisting of jumps in a program (10 sets of 10 jumps a minute of rest between sets) and the Wingate test. Immediately after the exhaustion protocol, the volunteers will be directed to a tank with water and ice, which will be immersed up to the height of the anterior superior iliac spine to the recovery procedure (G1: 5 '9 ± 1 ° C; G2 : 5 'at 14 ± 1 ° C, G3, 15' to 9 ± 1 ° C, G4, 15 'to 14 ± 1 ° C). The procedure for collection of HRV data will be analyzed for 20 minutes before exhaustion protocol (Basal), during and after the intervention by a recuperative period of 1h15mins with the volunteer sitting position.(AU)
