Use of electrophoresis and blood biochemical approach in clinical preterm lambs undergoing emergency treatment protocols for stimulation of respiratory activity

Abstract

The objective is to evaluate the efficacy of different therapeutic protocols for the clinical management of preterm lambs to stimulate respiration. The animals will be divided into five groups with a minimum of five animals each, with each group receives a different treatment, with the exception of Group I will consist of animals at term (145 days) and group II which will be of preterm lambs with no intervention. Lambs that constitute the group I will be born vaginally and the other lambs, premature, born by cesarean section. Will be held to collect blood samples from the animals to perform blood gas analysis, complete blood count, liver and renal profile, serum determination of glucose, lactate, cortisol, insulin and determination of protein fractions by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis immediately after birth, 60 minutes to 6, at 12, at 24 and 48 hours after birth. The variables will be subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA) to determine if there are differences between groups and between times, with a significance level of 5%.(AU)
