Abstract

In this research project it is proposed to develop algorithms to simulate the digital distance protection to transmission lines with different physical and operational characteristics. Detailed analysis must be made of distance protection for transmission lines modeled in the frequency domain, considering some variations of the physical characteristics of the LTs, like resistance faults values and system parameters that electric power line is connected. The proposed methodology must be implemented directly through routines developed in C + + environment. Tests and analyzes must be done considering different types of faults, as well as various parameters of the electric power system test literature. To simulate transmission lines under different physical conditions, topological and loads the software ATP must be used.(AU)
