Abstract

We intend to examine the conceptual context that supports Merleau-Ponty's first description of intersubjectivity, and its later reappraisal in his late works. This concept will bring us to examine the problem of the tacit cogito in "Phenomenology of perception" and, by its means, to the notions of existence and negativity. This is a major object of dispute between commentators. Through this study we will be able to comprehend better the later conception of interbodily reversibility, that "The Visible and the Invisible" presents. (AU)
