Abstract

The PhD internship will focus on application of the coupled coherent states method (CCS), in it's generalized version, to different kinds of systems of interest, with particular attention to those belonging to the field of Computational Chemistry, such as atoms and molecules, on the investigation of their spectra and possibly their thermodynamical properties. However, aiming atmaking full use of the generalized coherent state formalism, other classes of problems shall also be considered -- for instance, the study of the dynamics of trapped condensates. Moreover, the student should familiarize himself with numerical practices related to the CCS method, including the Monte Carlo sampling of classical orbits and algorithm parallelization; this will be done with the purpose of bringing these techniques to our group, thus allowing us to perform similar large scale calculations.
