Abstract

The project aims to investigate the placement of the clitics in Brazilian Portuguese, taking as a theoretical apparatus the Functional Discourse Grammar, developed by Hengeveld and Mackenzie (2008). The objective is to investigate the principles that guide the ordering of the clitics in Brazilian Portuguese of the Twentieth Century, to trace the path of change in the placement of these constituents in the clause. The material is occurrences extracted from the corpus of the Project for the History of Brazilian Portuguese, which is cataloged in the Platform Corporation, available on page https://sites.google.com/site/corporaphpb.(AU)
