Abstract

In the present project, it will be carried out by infrared spectroscopy characterization Fourier Transform (FT-IR) and the study and electrochemical corrosion of organic - inorganic films applied onto aluminum alloys AA1200 H14 for the purpose of protection against corrosion in aggressive media. The coatings were generically designated by Pol 2, PEC1, PEC2, PEC3. Pol 2 means hydroxylated oligomer synthesized from ricinoleic acid and trimethylolpropane (TMP); 1 PEC, PEC 2, 3 PEC mean polyesters synthesized from crambe oil, mixed in proportions of 1:2 and 1:3 with H3 (pre hexadietileno polymer-diisocyanate (HDI) and oxygenated solvents such as ethyl acetate + ethyl glycol acetate) and H3B (HDI prepolymer with, oxygenated solvents and biodiesel - ethyl acetate + biodiesel). The function of these coatings is to protect the substrate against corrosion, risks or damages to the environment and improve the aesthetics of the surface of the aluminum alloy. The efficiency of this protection depends on the quality of the coating, substrate characteristics, coating/substrate interface and medium that will be submitted. The electrochemical response and corrosion resistance, especially in aqueous NaCl 3.5%, will be studied by open circuit potential measurements EOCP, linear and cyclic polarization curves, cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and, if possible, by electrochemical noise analysis (ENA). After the characterization and analysis of the electrochemical results with respect to the alloy AA1200 coated and uncoated, it is intended to suggest the possible application of the coatings for corrosion protection in several sectors such as industrial equipments, packages, civil construction, chemical and pharmaceutical industries and refrigeration. A possible application to the food industry and as household items may be investigated in the future. (AU)
