Abstract

Recent molecular phylogenetic studies have shown that populations of lichenized fungi growing on different continents can be genetically distant from each other and this may be happening with several Brazilian species, since we have not yet, and molecular phylogenetic studies with our species. These studies have also shown that some genera and species groups previously accepted in Parmeliaceae are polyphyletic, indicating the need for additional studies to clarify the current definition of the family, which has been restructured with synonymization and exclusion of genera and species. The objective of this study is to verify that the transfer of the species of Parmotrema clade Canoparmelia crozalsiana to subg. Crespoa applies to the Brazilian species of the group. To do so, will be made morphological, anatomical, chemical, molecular and phylogenetic Canoparmelia crozalsiana with specimens of C. carneopruinata C. caroliniana, C. texana, Parmotrema austrosinense, P. tinctorum, Parmelia saxatilis and Punctelia sp. In the laboratory, will be considered external morphology and anatomy with the aid of light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In chemical analyzes, tests will be conducted coloration (test "spot") test, fluorescence in ultraviolet light and thin layer chromatography (TLC). Finally, molecular studies will involve the extraction and quantification of DNA, DNA amplification by PCR, and reading of the electrophoretic gels, purification, sequencing and phylogenetic analysis.
