Abstract The realization of Barcelona Olympic Games, in 1992, has made the urban landscape of this city suffered considerable changes. Although urban politics followed the economic logics, at least some citizens have benefited with changes implemented: the skateboarders. Due to a series of positive representations created around Barcelona - the "Mecca of the Skateboarding," according to a newspaper - many Brazilians skateboarders have strived to get there. The research proposed aims to examine the uses and appropriations of urban spaces through networks of relationships created between skateboarders, which expand between São Paulo and Barcelona. Following the networks which unfold through the production of images for specialized media, intend to perform less a comparison between the practice of skateboarding done in such cities, but to trace an ethnographic connection between these different spaces. Thus, during the research will be able to relate the different clippings inserted in the skateboarder circuit, which is not defined a priori but constructed from spaces, discourses, practices and heterogeneous representations. | |
