Abstract

The furniture, as an element of great influence on the cities, increasingly needs to be rethought, because the urban environment is in a constant process of evolution and change. Nevertheless, in most cases, these studies have not happened, emerging as a result a disjointed landscape, with obsolete securities and often made with inappropriate materials to their context or low quality. Attempting to prevent the advance of such a framework, this paper aims to conduct a study of urban furniture USP Butantã Campus, specifically the bus shelters, benches and bins, with the aim of presenting the requirements and recommendations for the design of this furniture. Thus, we employed the technique of post-occupancy evaluation, which will study the impact of design decisions and use of existing furniture, resulting in an analysis that, combined with the research of new materials and deployment processes, assist in development of more rational and sustainable proposals. For this study fulfill its intended function, as has been proposed for membership in the project to revitalize the campus of the USP. (AU)
