Abstract In this project we propose to study some constructions of Banach spaces of the form C(K). These spaces compose a representative class among Banach spaces in general, specially in the nonseparable setting. The combinatorial methods studied by the candidate up to now and those which we plan to study before the proposed visit form a solid basis to the construction of numerous examples with interesting properties, from various points of view: operator algebras, existence of biorthogonal systems, Asplund spaces, etc. We should mention that this is the main topic of the research developed by the supervisor, Prof. Piotr Koszmider.
