Abstract

The research aims to determine the digestibility coefficients and to evaluate the productive performance (Phase I) of Nile tilapia fed diets containing levels of digestible protein of 20, 23, 26, 29 and 32%, as well as to evaluate the hematological profile (Phase II) in the different nutritional conditions, before and after exposure to stress factors (stimulus by cold and heat, transport and classification). Three hundred and twenty tilapia fingerlings (10 g of initial weight) will be randomly distributed into 40 experimental tanks (250 L). The experimental design will consist of five treatments and eight replicates. The fish will be fed four times a day, at apparent satiation. At the end of 120 days will be assessed the weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion, apparent net protein retention and survival. For the analysis of blood profile will be determined the complete blood count, red blood cell indices, total plasma protein, albumin, globulin and the albumin/globulin relation. Challenges in the hot and cold, the animals will be transferred to the room temperatura by experimental challenge, where they remain for two days at 32ºC (stimulus heat) and for three days at 16ºC (stimulus cold). Transportation will be held in transport tanks, for four hours. In classification, the fish will be separated by size into two separate lots. Data will be submitted to analysis of variance and in case of significant differences will be performed regression analysis (performance data) and comparison of means by Tukey test (hematology parameters) using a significance level of 5%, through the statistical program SAS.
