Abstract

The objective of this project is the development of an application to observe the spatial distribution and temporal evolution of the magnetization of a spin system actuated by a RF magnetic field modulated in amplitude and in frequency or phase, some of them characterized as adiabatic pulses, and time dependent field gradients, to develop Magnetic Resonance Imaging and "in vivo" Spectroscopy methodologies. Among the desirable attributes resulting from this project we highlight the arbitration on choosing numerical methods for time evolution of the coupled system of equations, including decay with T1 and T2 (the Bloch Equations), the analytical solution of particular cases of this same system (whenever suitable) and finally the application of a rotating matrix about an arbitrary axis in space when the operation over the spin system is unitary. It is also intended to visualize the results in the form of magnetization spatial/spectral profiles and traces of time evolution of isochromats. To achieve these objectives it is intended to use parallel computational resources, under the CUDA development platform, compatible and based on Python language. (AU)
