Abstract

Tuberculosis is considered a great problem of public health worldwide, with Brazil ranked as the 19th country with the highest incidence of the disease. To reverse this situation and to prioritize this framework was launched the DOTS strategy, in which it recommended the implementation of Directly Observed Treatment (DOT) to control the disease. Understanding how public policies, especially the DOT, are being implemented and transferred to the Brazilian reality shows very important seeing that they will be part of the current reality. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the policy transfer of directly observed treatment in Ribeirão Preto/SP. Aims to analyze and understand the process of policy transfer of the DOT according to experience of health professionals in the implementation of this policy in your routine, taking as analysis three dimensions that underlie the policy transfer: information, knowledge and innovation. This is a cross-sectional study in which will participating all the health professionals who work with the DOT in the city. Data will be collected through two instruments, one for secondary sources and other self-administered to collect information from health professionals. It is hoped that this study can enhance knowledge on the DOT and to understand the process of policy transfer of the same policy in order to contribute to the planning, organization, monitoring and evaluation. It is also expected to contribute to the formulation of public policies in health and in development of research and human resource training. (AU)
