Abstract

Phenol resins and furfurílica have a high density of cross-links and high carbon content, and thus widely applied in the aerospace area, mainly in getting the vitreous carbon. The combination phenol/FA seeks resins more suited to the process of obtaining the glassy carbon phenolic resins currently available and more cost effective and easier to synthesize and cure the furfurílica. Thus, the production of phenol resins-furfurílica is already available in literature. However, little data about its properties are found in the literature. Furthermore, almost no information can be found regarding the production of nanostructured composites of phenol resin-furfurílica/carbon nanotubes. With this, the aim of this work is to obtain phenol resin-nanostructured composites and their furfurílica with different concentrations of carbon nanotubes (0.1, 0.5 and 1.0% m/m) and thermal characterization. Phenol resin-nanostructured composites and their furfurílica will be evaluated via differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), in order to obtain information regarding your specific heat (cp); Thermo-mechanical analysis (TMA) for obtaining the linear thermal expansion coefficient (±) and Thermogravimetry (TGA) to knowledge of the temperature of thermal degradation, either via actual analyses as simulated by software known as Highway Simulation.
