Abstract

The Lima Duarte Nappe, an allochthonous tectonic slice, is located in a Himalayan-type collisional orogen which is a result of an Ediacaran collision of the Sanfranciscan and Paranapanema plates, organizing the orogenic domain in a nappe pile of lower crust with vergence to the Sanfranciscan margin. This metasedimentary nappe, of upper Amphibolite facies syn-tectonic metamorphism under high temperature, might be related to the autochthonous Carrancas group and the Sanfranciscan passive margin, where they were probably located. This project aims at investigating the paleogeographic provenance of the Lima Duarte Nappe, as well as confirming its stratigraphic structure. Its tectonic context will be analyzed by means of well-established geochemistry tools commonly used in geosciences. They will be employed in the quest for a better comprehension of this crustal portion. (AU)
