In this work will be realized the phytochemical study of Aristolochia cordigera (Aristolochiaceae), seeking the isolation and structural characterization of its chemical constituents. The isolated secondary metabolites will be subjected to in vitro antiplasmodial bioassays, using strains of Plasmodium falciparum in chemical incorporation assays [3H]-hypoxanthine and in vivo employing P. berghei. The insecticide and repellent activities of the chemical constituents will also be evaluated. In addition, we propose a sequence of chemical reactions in an attempt to obtain antimalarial lignans, which occur in species of this family, as well as their analogous, which is essential to understand the structure activity relationship of these compounds and obtain them in quantity to accomplish pharmacologic bioassays. The identifications and/or structural characterizations will be performed by spectrometric methods, including NMR uni- (1H e 13C) and two-dimensional (COSY, HMQC, HSQC, HMBC, NOESY), spectroscopy of absorptions in the region of the UV and IR, mass spectrometry and by chiral separation techniques (HPLC-aD and HPLC-DC).
