Abstract

The use of heterologous primers is very useful in researches about wild animals because it facilitates and cheapens the DNA amplification procedure. But problems like mutation at the primer's linking site, phylogenetic distance between species and difficulties with degraded samples amplification are a few obstacles for its use. That's why this study seeks to propose a alternative low cost and heterologous primer's use solution by testing the specific internal primer's designs. For such, heterologous primers will be amplificated and new specific primers designed for the Mazama gouazoubira species. Then, both primers' amplifications will be compared. Also, fur and fecal samples will be tested, to check the amplification's success in different kinds of samples, including degraded ones.(AU)
