Abstract

This research shows as study focus designs to the rectilinear watercourse of Tietê river in São Paulo City and designs and recommendations for the urban usage of its borders, namely the Francisco Saturnino de Brito's design from 1924, the João Florence de Ulhôa Cintra's design from 1928, and the Moses Report recommendations from 1950. The research method asks, on the one hand, what philosophic approaches these designs hold on and how these approaches were inserted in the intellectual context in its time, and by the other hand, what political and economic positions these designs support or counter, and however these designs technical defenses were related with every position detected. It intends that the research lasts two years long. (AU)
