Abstract

The stage post doctorate researcher could enable the conditions for consolidation and updating of knowledge and guidance of the research through research conducted in conjunction with research groups consolidated of the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Just as, through interchanges with other research centers, participation in international events and publishing articles on international journals. The discovery of new modes of action of herbicides or phytotoxins is very important because it can provide new tools in weed management, especially considering the problems with herbicides resistance, which has been one of the greatest challenges in agriculture actually. The aglycone ascaulitoxina (ASCA) is a potent phytotoxin produced by Ascochyta caulina, fungus used for biological control of Chenopodium album. The ASCA is one of aim event in the study by researchers at the ARS / USDA in Oxford Mississippi (USA) for a possible biological control of different weed species. Thus, this project is being proposed in order to study the mode of action of natural phytotoxins Aglycone Auscalotoxina (ASCA) with performing bioassays; analyze the metabolic profile after application of the phytotoxin; studies of reversal of the effects by supplementation plant growth medium with the target amino acids involved in the action of phytotoxins and studying the standart of absorption and translocation of ASCA and some specific amino acids with 14C utilization. All study will be conducted in a randomized block design and each experiment will have specific number of repetitions. The results will be submitted to multivariate statistical analysis. (AU)
