Abstract

The occurrence of conditions in buildings, with the passage of time, is of great importance. Besides their presence being an indication that something is wrong, they are showing failures to the user, normally visible and eventually gaining prominence in the building. Thus, this paper aims to visually detect pathologies present and the most frequently occurring in the structural, masonry, flooring coatings and a sample of three public schools (case study) inserted into the urban fabric of Presidente Prudente, identifying aspects related to materials, type of injury, impact, probable causes, among others. Through visual inspection and completing a worksheet that will serve to characterize the pathologies found in public schools, along with the photographic record, it may be observed current conditions of public schools, diagnosing pathologies occurred in various construction elements of the schools. Where the number of occurrences is an indication that there is still much to be done in terms of quality and durability coupled with the low cost, the construction of public schools.(AU)
