Abstract

The aim of this study is test the hypothesis that stem cells from exfoliated human teeth (SHED) may have its odontoblastic and endothelial differentiation enhanced by the association of VEGF and dentin-derived factors and confirm that these cells are true. Tooth slices are obtained from freshly extracted third molars for the use of dentin-derived factors. SHED will be seeded on tooth slices, treated or not treated with EDTA, composed of PLLA matrix and treated or not treated with VEGF, and then implanted into the back of immunosuppressed rats. The sample will be collected and send to a microdissection laser capture (MCL) microscope to gene expression of VE-Cadherin, CD31, DSPP and DMP-1, as markers of differentiation processes. (AU)
