Abstract The general relativistic treatment of the radiation field of a spherically symmetric star introduces new features, which are absent in Newtonian gravity. One important result is the presence of the "Eddington Capture Sphere'', a radius for which the gravitational and radiation forces balance. This region is shown to be an attractor for the dynamics of test particles. We intent to deepen the analysis of motion around the Eddington Capture Sphere and improve the dynamical description of the system, investigating in more detail its time dependence. We also intent to analyze the effect that the radiation test field exerts on spacetime if we consider it as a source for Einstein's equations. Another topic to be analysed is the structure of the "Eddington Capture Surface" in the presence of an accretion disk around the star. (AU) | |
