Abstract

Our work aims to analyze the tale Otra historia del guerrero y la cautiva, by writer Maria Rosa Lojo, from of examination of intertextual dialogue established with the narrative of Jorge Luis Borges "Historia del guerrero y la cautiva", as well as the novel Lucía Miranda by Eduarda Mansilla. More specifically, we will investigate how the narrative of Maria Rosa Lojo emerges as a counter-writing of Borges's story, at the same time incorporating and extending the break with the archetype of the captive already present in the novel of Eduarda Mansilla. Thereby, Lojo"s narrative discusses the foundational myth of the captive, and reframes the archetypal formula of civilization versus barbarism, renewing its arguments and updating the foundational myths in the literary system, to create a utopian space and programmatic effective.(AU)
