Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of the specific mandibular mobilization, after performed, on the anteroposterior and mediolateral directions of COP in subjects with temporomandibular joint dysfunction, with characteristics of TMJ disc displacement. The mandibular changes might compromise the balance and the policy center of pressure, in which since sensitive receptors reprogramming using body manipulation and/or mobilization techniques is possible to reprogram them for the restore of the global body balance of the neuromuscular system and therefore improve body posture and its derivations. The subjects will be diagnosed using the Research Diagnostic Criteria for temporomandibular disorders (RDC/TMD). Performing the specific mandibular mobilization technique, the evaluation will be applied before and immediately after the technique, using a pressure plate which allows the registration of body oscillations (on X and Y axis) during the time of feet contact on the plate on orthostatic position, static or dynamic anteroposterior and mediolateral directions. The data will be organized on tables and graphs according to mean values and standard deviation for each variable and will be submitted to statistical analyzes with p<0,05.(AU)
