Abstract The purpose of this FAPESP Pos Doctoral program project is the study of the equatorial and low latitude ionosphere electrodynamics over the Brazilian region, using statistical and observational techniques of spread F with various instruments. We focus the study in the physical quantities of the F layer bottom structures (bottom-type) like vertical and zonal velocity and intensity (s/n), and comparing their latitudinal and longitudinal behavior with VHF radars data from São Luís (2.59oS, 315.8oE, 0.5oS dip latitude) e Christmas Island (2oN, 202.6oE, 2.9oN dip latitude). Their importance states in the search of instabilities generation mechanisms previous to the bubble/plumes development, as wave-like-periodic oscillations. This is necessary to study the vertical coupling between E and F regions. Further, for the coupling of the ionospheric layers we will use VLF data from SAVNET Network to look for effect in the base of the ionosphere of transients-like events (sprites, rays, lightning) that set up conditions for bubble/plume development in the F region. We set the necessary data for the development of the same, such as TEC and scintillation data from GPS networks like INPE, LISN, IBGE, SOPAC (IGS) and other in South America, historical data in VLF from the SAVNET network, historical data of the VHF radar from São Luís and Christmas Island equatorial stations, digisonde data from São Luís and Fortaleza stations, all sky imager from São João de Cariri (some events), and in situ density from C/NOFS satellite when there is a track over regions of interest, in conjunction with geomagnetic parameters like Sym-H, AE, Kp, F10.7 cm e Dst.
