Abstract Grinding is a machining process widely used in industry as it provides: fix some mistakes manufacturing; surface finish; adjustments precision measurements, among others. However, little is known about the rectification involving interrupted cutting (workpiece with grooves), despite being widely used in the manufacture of precision parts. This type of cut is usually studied in conventional processes such as turning, yet none was found in literature-formal with respect to the grinding process. Another aspect that deserves attention is related to the method of cooling in such an operation. This is because the grinding creates an excessive amount of heat in the cutting region and, therefore, it is important the presence of cutting fluids in operation to lower the temperature and lubricate the contact part/grinding wheel. The use of cutting fluids implies improvements in machining operations, allowing higher productivity, and therefore, the most common is the use of plenty of fluid with a view to cutting fluids are capable of providing a rectification very satisfactory. Thus, this project aims to study the interrupted cut in cylindrical grinding dive using the method of abundant cooling in order to reach conclusive results for such operation. (AU) | |
