Abstract

The purpose of this internship abroad is to propose theoretical and methodological deepening of my Master research. The master research investigates aspects related to the writing of scientific articles abstract published in English high impact factor journals. For the analysis, the Genre Analysis approach was suggested due to its pedagogical purposes of EAP (English for Academic Purposes)/ ESP (English for Specific Purposes) (Swales, 1990, 2004; BHATIA, 1993, 2004). However, the models proposed by Bhatia (1993), Swales and Feak (2009) and Gil (2011) were not sufficient to discuss the corpus manifestations. For this reason, here I propose adding another genre study approach, the New Rhetorics. The knowledge improvement of this approach with the supervision of an expert researcher, Dr. Charles Bazerman, and discuss the research findings and results with researchers and students of an international community will provide reflections about English academic writing and allow new paths and possible solutions to the corpus analysis.
