Abstract

Mastitis is a condition that causes more harm national dairy industry and is considered a major barrier to improving productivity indexes. Recent studies reveal that the rate of total bacterial count in milk decreases, but the somatic cell count is high and stagnant, showing an improvement in the actions of hygiene in the production chain in general, but the real control of mastitis in cattle Brazil has not yet reached the level of excellence, reaffirming that this is a complex and multi-sectoral. Normative Instruction No. 62 issued by the Ministério da Pecuária e Abastecimento in December 2011 incorporates the importance for the adequacy of quality indices of milk and passes the argument to the private sector, bringing to the fore the importance of a quality control plan milk suitable and efficient. In this context objectives of this project are to carry out a prospective epidemiological study regarding the assessment, dynamics and impact of clinical and subclinical mastitis, its major risk factors, the institution and evaluation of a program of quality control of milk on a farm holstein cows, located in São Pedro, São Paulo. The main importance of this study, this rooted in promoting a program of quality control of milk to add and generate technical and scientific experiments to a possible model to be applied to other dairy farms in Brazil.
