Abstract

Brazil is the leading exporter of natural rubber now has to import most of the rubber consuming. Thus regions of escape from evil-the-sheets for rubber cultivation have become priority areas for heveiculture. As the driving this culture is made by vegetative propagation, ie restricted genetic basis, searching for more productive genotypes and tolerant pests and diseases, becomes a constant search. Thus, the support molecular genetic techniques associated with conventional methods of breeding is desirable. Thus, this project aims to quantify the genetic progeny of rubber from two populations, one improved and one wild, citing the evaluation of quantitative traits and molecular characterization of SSR loci (microsatellites). The results of this research proposal subsidize genetic information about these populations, regarding its conservation and breeding, which will provide the acquisition of new genotypes for planting, aiming to increase productivity.
