Abstract

The aim of the present research was to evaluate the performance of broilers chickens fed diets containing soybean oil or tallow supplemented with or not lysophospholipids and organic acids and analyze the economic viability of the production system. For this purpose, will be used 768 male Cobb 500 broiler chicks with one day of age, distributed in a completely randomized design in factorial scheme 2 x 2 x 2, two lipid sources (soybean oil or beef tallow) with or without emulsifier (lysophospholipids) and with or without organic acids (40% of lactic acid, 7% of acetic acid and 1% of butyric acid). Diets will be formulated based on corn and soybean meal and will be provided ad libitum throughout the experimental period, which comprises within 1 to 42 days of creation. The bed of this experiment is a rice husk 20 cm thick and will be reused for another created to raise the sanitary challenge. At 7, 14, 21, and 42-day-old of birds, the following performance variables will be analyzed: weight gain, average feed intake, feed conversion, mortality, and productive efficiency (IEP), which is calculated only at the end of the experiment (42 day-olds). At the end of creation is also performed an economic evaluation of the production, which will be based on the performance data of birds during the trial period. The cost of each diet will be calculated according to the prices of ingredients, based on the quotation of the month in which the study will be done. The cost of feed will be determined from the total feed cost per bird multiplied by the diet. The initial value of the bird will be the unit price of the chick a day. The final value of each bird shall be obtained by multiplying the gross weight and the final average price per kilogram of a live chicken. (AU)
