Abstract

This research plan for a PhD in physics aims at studying various aspects of field theories contained pseudo-escalars fields like the axion, in the context of other proposals for Standard Model Extensions, namely, models with violations of Lorentz Symmetry and Supersymmetry. The axion is a particle proposed to solve some problems of the Standard Model, which is also a candidate for Dark Matter. We want to show that it is possible to generate terms involving the axion starting from theories with Lorentz Violation, thus connecting these two popular proposals for beyond the Standard Model physics. We also want to consider supersymmetric theories involving the axion, using the superfield formalism to calculate the effective action in such models. The motivation for that is the existence of strong cosmological constraints over the properties of the supersymmetric partners of the axion. At last, we also want to consider the effect of Lorentz Violation in models including the axion in the primordial cosmology, following some recent studies that appeared in the literature. (AU)
