Abstract

The indigenous interpretation, addition to being the main goal of an ethnographic field is also the main element for a interpretive archeology revival. It is the archaeological site Ciudad Sagrada de los Quilmes (northwestern Argentina) controlled by the local community that we find a rich ethnographic context of the interpretation of material culture. The historical moments put by Quilmes bring forth a contemporary process of elaboration of past experience. The proposed stage aims to further strengthen this discussion, based initially on a ethnoarchaeological fieldwork, that as research strategy seeks to provide connections between past and present. The second point refers to the deepening of bibliographical research in university centers in Argentina. (AU)
