Abstract

The purpose of this project is investigate the historical process of formation of the condominiums and neighborhoods in the Metropolitan Region of Buenos Aires, starting in 1970, and the relations between sensibilities, sociabilities and urban space expressed in Argentine cinematography amid the impacts of neoliberal policies in the country. The investigation of such relations suggests / requires, the articulation between the cultural and urban studies and the film studies to cover different documentary sources: writings of architects and urbanists (plans, projects and analyzes) concerning the urbanization of the Metropolitan Region of Buenos Aires; data on the formation and expansion of countries, as well as changes in legislation to incorporate this new urban way of life; the short-documentary of Lucrecia Martel, " La ciudad que huye " (2006); the movies "Cara de queso 'mi primer ghetto' by Ariel Winograd, "Una semana solos "(2007) by Celia Murga," Las viudas de los jueves "(2009) by Marcelo Piñeyro," Historia del Miedo " (2014) by Benjamin Naishtat, and " Los decentes " (2016) by Lukas Valenta Rinner. The central hypothesis is that the films present themselves not only as an expression, but an integral part of changes in sensibilities and sociabilities in this kind of "city that runs away", and our work is justified by the insertion in these debates seeking to understand the impacts and depth of the urbanization not only in form but above all in urban life.
