Abstract

This proposal for a research internship abroad aims to continue the study of the historical process and the urban and sensitive impacts of the construction of neighborhoods and gated communities in the Metropolitan Region of Buenos Aires from 1970 onwards. The PhD research, financed by FAPESP, approaches sets of sources that permeate two aspects: a technical one, which refers to the writings of architects and urban planners (plans, projects and analyses) concerning the urbanization of the Metropolitan Region of Buenos Aires, data on training and expansion of countries, as well as changes in legislation to incorporate this new mode of urban remodeling; and another "artistic", as it seeks to analyze a short documentary and five Argentine films related to the theme. As part of the artistic documentation was analyzed, the objective is now to analyze the technical documentation, in this sense, the main objective is the mapping, collection and analysis of the technical writings of planners and architects related to urban remodeling and the formation of condominiums and closed neighborhoods , as well as the legislation referring to these urban remodeling's, and the historical context of their formations under the impact of neoliberal policies implemented in the country. For this purpose, nine institutions were previously selected, including research centers and libraries in Buenos Aires and La Plata, crossing documentation that permeates technical and artistic aspects, which will also be revised. The research grant, in this sense, is essential for the collection of documentation, as well as the incorporation of elements of bibliographic review, unavailable in Brazil. (AU)
