Abstract

The main objective in this project is the computational simulation of the thermodynamic performance of internal combustion engines of alternative type, using a software ESP (Engine Performance Simulation) developed at Stanford University, USA. Through this software it can be simulated the thermodynamic performance of engines burning different types of fuels. The several processes occurring in the operation of an internal combustion engine of the alternative type are modeled by differential equations which are coded in the ESP. Some tests will be also conducted using tool of online access the RK-Diesel simulator. The results will be useful for predicting the possible improvements of performance of engines of alternative type. (AU)
