Abstract

In this study, mechanical properties of the new quaternary alloy, Ti-25Ta-25Nb-XSn, will be evaluated. Ingots will be obtained by melting in arc furnace according compositions. After cold work and heat treatment will be produced bars with 6 mm of diameter for machining the specimens for tests. Mechanical tests will be realized and cyclic stress-strains tensile curve will be obtained. Phases analysis will be investigated by X-ray diffraction and optical microscopy will be used to observe microstructures. Results will be compared with researches realized for others alloys used in orthodontic applications. (AU)
