Abstract This research project aims to analyze the way of history textbooks produced in Angola and Mozambique, present the history of the continent, its own history and its relationship with Brazil, as well as seeking to understand the historical context of production these textbooks and all those involved in this process: authors, publishers, distributors, education ministries of the respective countries in order to evaluate the interaction of these forms of learning materials with the school environment in which they live, with regard to its uses and achievement in the teaching and learning of countries whose educational systems are still in the process of structuring. Angola and Mozambique are African countries with a common history of Portuguese colonization and wars of liberation that brought great impact on the process of formation and structure of their education systems in post-independence. The time frame will focus on the period 2000-2010, which covers the end of the war in Angola and the early years of peacebuilding in Mozambique, until 2010, when education systems of both countries began to follow the guidelines World Bank to combat illiteracy and modernization of education.This project speaks to the areas of African History and History Teaching and is linked to the group research: Knowledge, Stories of Africa and Brazil in South Prospect, School of Philosophy, Letters and Sciences, Federal University of São Paulo (EFLCH / Unifesp), affiliated to the Centre of African Studies, University of Porto. This research group, coordinated by professors doctors Patricia Teixeira Santos and Fabio Franzini, remains important dialogue with the University of Delhi (India) and Cape (South Africa), and presupposes the integration with international networks of education in order to foster academic and educational grants for Brazilian, South African, Portuguese and Indian researchers, teachers and education agents.
