Abstract

This research analyse discursive strategies about national identity that are categorized from the Museum of History and in the exhibitions of Contemporary art in Brazil. The challenge regards to find in the art practice, curatorship and Contemporary theorization a critical tool to approach other models of plural citizenship and other narrations and historical critical bodies. In a transversal way the research looks for a dialogue in the Brazilian theorization with the South Epistemologies, postcolonial theorization and the proposals related to decolonized the Power and knowledge that are taking force from the so called south- south dialogues. The research aim to show how the poscolonial condition of Brazil and its coherent critical theorisation can contribute in this global debate. It will be part of my collaboration with Mela* project: European Museums in the Age of Migration, showing how the questions confronted from the curatorial and theorization work in Brazil can generate fruitful tools for the new problems that Europe confront in its postcolonial condition in the age of migrations.
