Abstract

The project "Bodily States: between experience and representation" proposes a practical and theoretical research that wants to investigate "bodily states" present in the work of contemporary dancer. It will be building a dialogue between artists and researchers, in order to contextualize and expand this concept of body in scene, to discuss the elements of practical work in dance and to analyze the experimental activities of this research. About the theoretical reference, some authors will be important to develop this project, such as Matteo Bonfitto, Christine Greiner, José Gil, Phillip Zarrilli and Merleau-Ponty. Thereby, concepts like acting, psychophysical action, representation and body awareness, among others, will contribute to knowledge construction process. The bodily states will be investigated in creative process with Núcleo Artérias, directed by Adriana Grechi (São Paulo -SP), interviews with artists of this company and analyzes of videos. This dance company develops a research interested in bodily states and the investigation of personal movements' repertories, in the contemporary dance context. Therefore, the research will be a combination of bibliographic study, practical laboratories, interview with artists and analyzes of audio-visual materials.
