Abstract

The focus of interest of this work lies in mapping and investigation procedures that may assist in the education of contemporary scenic artist. To this end, approaches and concepts developed by the choreographer and dancer William Forsythe encourage the location and systematization of principles for the handling and movement of the actor in the current artistic context. The central point of interest in William Forsythe's investigations is the mechanisms that promote interactions between body and space - the body of the dancer or spectator. I approach this Forsythe´s speculation in order to investigate the ways in which the body, in the context of scenic artist´s education, is activated and mobilized favoring contacts, approaches and the creation of shared spaces - a place that does not separate artwork and spectator.
