Abstract

The beginning of behavior analysis in Brazil has been marked by Professor Fred S. Keller's first visit, in 1961, when he gave courses at the Brazilian Psychology Association and as a guest teacher at USP, São Paulo. After this first visit, Carolina Bori, Rodolpho Azzi, and Gil Sherman helped organize the psychology undergraduate course at Universidade de Brasília, based on Keller's teaching. Concurrently, the students of behavior analysis were also involved with social issues related to the revival of democracy. Thus, this project aims to study the influence of political involvement to the establishment of Behavior Analysis in Brazil. The investigation will be conducted through the analysis of interviews given by them about their own history and intellectual life. The data interpretation will be based on the study of secondary sources about the historic period and about the history of Behavior analysis in Brazil and worldwide. (AU)
