Abstract

This research project has as its theme an anthropological analysis of intellectual production performed by African professionals in the field of social sciences, presenting study universe as the work done with the support of CODESRIA - Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa - and as snip the temporal end of the twentieth century to the present. Its main objective is to extend an anthropological for this production, in order to analyze issues, motivations, interpretations, epistemological foundations and social conditions of production of knowledge in African countries, including possible relationships between the intellectual output in social sciences and demands of government. Thus, also has as its objective "to interpret the interpretation" by entering into the field of ethnography of knowledge. Its initial theoretical references the concept of "translated men" used by Homi Bhabha and the proposed Clifford Geertz conducting an ethnography of the intellectual community. (AU)
